Overview
CGW understands that corporate disputes can be make-or-break events for a corporate client and we have some of the best trial attorneys in the country available to handle a wide variety of corporate disputes. Co-founders of CGW, Dan Costello, Jim Wideikis, and Greg Ginex are all nationally recognized trial attorneys with a wealth of experience who have tried a wide range of complex, high exposure matters.
Jim Wideikis leads our commercial litigation team and he has worked with corporate clients ranging from startups and entrepreneurs to mid and large cap publicly traded companies. Jim has served as lead trial counsel for claims on a wide variety of cases including negligence and personal injury claims, legal and medical malpractice, partnership disputes, shareholder derivative actions, foreclosures and construction contracts, as well as large, potentially catastrophic civil and criminal matters, including alleged product liability, breach of fiduciary duty, environmental contamination, toxic torts, securities violations, misrepresentation of defects and other claims. He is one of the few litigators in the country, in addition to Dan Costello, to have litigated directly on claims arising from the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
Jim is one of the most highly respected trial lawyers in the country and is a member of the Society of Trial Lawyers. Jim has been routinely elected to Illinois Super Lawyers, Rising Stars, or The Leading Lawyers Network for over a decade, including recent ratings as a Super Lawyer in 2020 and 2021 and an AV pre-eminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell in 2021.
