Jessica Biagi
Partner
Jessica is a dedicated trial attorney that has been with the firm since 2011. She focuses her practice on insurance defense litigation with an emphasis on complex/catastrophic litigation, personal injury, premises liability, and construction negligence, and is part of our Catastrophic Loss Team, assisting in investigating and litigating claims involving fatalities and significant injuries. Jessica is an experienced trial attorney and has obtained thirteen defense wins in her first fourteen jury trials, including twelve not guilty verdicts. She also second-chaired two motorcycle fatality jury trials resulting in indemnity payments only 21.7% and 11.7% of the total available coverage. While Jessica is more than happy to try cases when necessary, she is passionate about finding ways to help her clients avoid the hassle and expense of litigation. In her time at the firm, Jessica has resolved well over 200 claims for her clients, always seeking to resolve matters quickly and efficiently wherever possible. She also leads one of our litigation teams and is available to consult on litigation management, billing efficiency, and metrics.
Jessica discusses a number of topics ranging from the influence of technology on jury trials to the role gender plays in her professional life.
Jessica graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law and in the top 12% of her class. While in law school, she made the nationally ranked Chicago-Kent Trial Team and finished as a Regional Semi-Finalist in the AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition. Not only was Jessica a Chicago-Kent Legal Scholar, but she also received five CALI awards for obtaining the highest overall grades in Contracts, Evidence, Criminal Litigation, Legislative Process, and Criminal Procedure: Adjudicatory Process. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from James Madison College at Michigan State University.
