Matt Pierotti

Matt Pierotti is a cornerstone of the firm’s alternative fee arrangement division, and he specializes in bringing cases to resolution quickly and efficiently. Matt has taken a leadership role in organizing the firm’s “settlement blitz” process, where cases are strategically targeted for resolution, and then organized mediations and structured settlement negotiations are used to close cases en masse. Matt has been resolving an average of three cases every month since 2019, helping clients get rid of claims, and helping insurers to reduce risk and lower their open-to-close cycle time.

Matt brings a variety of experience to Costello Ginex and Wideikis, not only as a litigator on a variety of complex matters, but also from his time at the executive level in the insurance industry. Prior to joining the firm, Matt was a Senior Claims Account Executive at Zurich Insurance where he handled a large pending of healthcare/medical malpractice claims of high complexity, with total valuation exceeding $20 Million involving primary and excess insurance.

Matt received his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in 1999. He received a B.A. in History from DePaul University in 1996. Matt is admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Additionally, Matt was the Red Cross 2011 disaster relief and blood donation coordinator while at Zurich. He has been a Junior Achievement volunteer for five years running from 2011-2016. Matt worked closely with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and was Food Drive Coordinator from 2013-2016 while at Zurich.

Matt is also fluent in Italian.
