Congratulations to partner Gregory V. Ginex who just won a full defense verdict in favor of our client in a premises liability matter where plaintiff sustained significant injuries including a severe ankle fracture resulting in a CRPS diagnosis and a shoulder replacement.
Plaintiff, an elderly woman, fell in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart during a heavy snowstorm, breaking her ankle, and requiring extensive surgery. She brought suit against Wal-Mart and the snow removal contractors. CGW attorneys engaged in a lengthy years-long process of discovery as the Plaintiff continued medical treatment.
As the case approached trial, Greg Ginex and associate Sam Rodewald took over handling the matter along with help from paralegal Taylor Bradley.
Greg and the team defended Wal-Mart at trial, convincing the jury that plaintiff failed to meet her burden of proof. Plaintiff ultimately asked for over $6 million at trial due to Plaintiff’s extensive medical bills.
The jury deliberated for 3 hours, awarding the plaintiff nearly $1 million in damages, but assigning all liability to the snow removal contractor, winning a full defense verdict for CGW’s client.
